Exercise Regularly
You probably experience first-hand how good you feel when you exercise. Maybe you like to swim, do yoga asanas, walk, or practice martial arts. If you feel clear-headed and in a better mood when you are getting enough exercise, it’s not just in your head. Scientists are now beginning to study and document the additional benefits that exercise offers. From increased energy and enhanced memory, to improved ability to prioritize, a regular exercise routine helps support us take on all of our to-do’s.
Plan Your Day
There’s something reassuring about starting your day with a plan. Whether you take 10 minutes the night before or you do it in the morning, jotting down a list helps you prioritize and takes out the guess-work. Making a reasonable list of things to do can help you stick to what is essential in the face of the pressures of the day. For example, you might get emails that seem urgent, texts that demand immediate response, or other calls to action. If you can put aside a little time in between your important tasks to address these in batches then it makes it easier to focus on the tasks at hand.
Take Breaks
We all have limits to how long we can focus on any one subject before mental or physical fatigue set in. Take into consideration your need for rest, healthy food, fresh air, and purified water. Schedule breaks and pay attention to signals that your body and mind are giving you and you will feel better and have more energy while you work.
